We’re excited to add an Associate Product Designer to our growing team! This entry-level role is an engaging opportunity to contribute to the development of our connected Moen products. We’re looking for a creative, user-obsessed designer who wants to work at the intersection of software and hardware within the connected home.

This position will report to the Senior Director of Product Design, Water, and support our efforts in building smart products that people love - serving both direct-to-consumer needs and our business partners.

POSITION LOCATION:

This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with all work performed in Deerfield, IL or North Olmsted, OH where the candidate will be expected to be on-site 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Contribute to user experiences that span digital (mobile) and physical (device) interfaces.
  • Collaborate with mid-level and senior designers throughout the product lifecycle, learning from their expertise.
  • Use available data and show curiosity in identifying additional sources to inform design decisions.
  • Communicate and collaborate with product managers, category managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align on solutions.
  • Advocate for user-centered refinements and improvements to the user-experience.
  • Support design activities across the stack, from research to iteration to high-fidelity visuals.
  • Participate in workshops and cross-functional sessions, contributing insights and supporting facilitation.
  • Assist with user testing and research, learning to plan sessions and analyze insights under senior guidance.
  • Work with internal teams and partners to help create cohesive, seamless user experiences.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • A BA/BS in design, UX/UI, HCI, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
    • A portfolio that demonstrates your approach to user problems and thoughtful design solutions
    • Familiarity with design tools (especially Figma), prototyping, and collaborative design processes.
    • An understanding of design systems and how to use them within an established framework.
    • Strong visual design skills and an eye for polished, consistent interfaces.
    • Solid understanding of user-centered design (UCD) principles and a willingness to grow in designing for digital interfaces and physical products.
    • Awareness of Material Design and Apple’s human interface guidelines.
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
    • Familiarity with user journeys, use cases, and user modeling, and an eagerness to co-create these with product managers and researchers.
    • Interest in how connected devices communicate via the internet, with some familiarity with IoT platforms and protocols (such as MQTT, CoAP, HTTP) a plus.

    Additional Information

    Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $55,000 USD - $88,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
