Job summary

Flo is seeking an Associate to Mid Level Product Designer in Austin, TX. You will collaborate cross-functionally to craft exceptional user experiences across web and mobile, contributing to design systems, and delivering high-fidelity mocks in a fast-paced startup environment.

You will work with Product, Design, Engineering, CS, and Marketing to push the boundaries of usability, leveraging Figma for prototyping and exploring AI-assisted design tools such as Claude to enhance workflows.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of product design experience in a high-demand, fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience working within and contributing to a design system.
• End-to-end design process including research, ideation, prototyping and testing.
• Experience collaborating with Product Managers and Engineers in a highly collaborative environment.
• Ability to showcase work that demonstrates design thinking and visual design skills.
• Passion for improving user experience and simplifying complex workflows.
• Experience conducting user and competitive research.
• Proficient in Figma and familiar with AI tools such as Claude.

Responsibilities

• Work with a development team daily, attending standups and ceremonies while guiding workflow design and feature development.

Flo is looking for an Associate to Mid Level Product Designer to join our growing team based in Austin, Texas.

What You Will Do

• Foster strong communication, working closely with various departments, including Product, Design, Engineering, CS, and Marketing, to ensure the user experience meets or exceeds user expectations.
• Work with a development team on a daily basis, attending standups, groomings and other team ceremonies while helping to answer questions around workflow designs and foster the development lifecycle of features.
• Design iteratively always with the future in mind while finding ways to design a solution that is achievable within defined deadlines.
• Address complex design challenges by incorporating diverse user requirements and expectations.
• Utilize best practices for web-based architecture and interaction design, including a user-centered design process, and have a strong knowledge of user experience principles and techniques.
• Enhance and expand our design system to ensure a user-friendly experience and consistent design to simplify the developer hand-off process.
• Experience designing applications with multiple user touchpoints for both desktop and mobile.
• Create high-fidelity mocks and use prototyping tools such as Figma.

What You Will Bring
