Minimum qualifications
  • JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in‑house status) in the state in which the position is located.
  • 3 years of attorney‑level experience in government, in‑house, or at a law firm.
  • Experience advising technology product teams or business teams on legal and regulatory issues.
Preferred qualifications
  • Knowledge of privacy or competition law.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and on their own.
  • Excellent investigative, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to understand and explain legal issues clearly and concisely, including to product and business leaders.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a changing environment.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $210,000–$312,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Advise product, engineering, and business teams on a range of legal issues related to product development for Google Maps and other Geo products, including privacy, competition, and content regulation.
  • Design and implement strategies for compliance with global, legal, and regulatory requirements, and respond to emerging legal issues.
  • Collaborate with commercial counsel working on agreements with Google partners and customers.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams, including Regulatory Affairs, Risk, Compliance and Integrity, Government Affairs and Public Policy, Public Relations (PR), and Trust and Safety.
