Position Overview
As a leading provider of commercial-grade site furnishings and traffic safety products, Barco Products is a fast-paced and growth-oriented company that rewards hard work, collaboration, and results. We’re seeking a customer-centric Associate Product Category Manager to lead our Traffic Safety category.
Responsibilities
- Drive growth of the Traffic Safety product category through end-to-end category management, including new product development, identifying gaps in our current offering, pricing strategy and full ownership of category profitability.
- Identify high-impact, customer-driven Traffic Safety product opportunities and define market potential, competitive positioning, and product roadmap priorities to fuel category growth.
- Leverage Voice of Customer insights to drive product development, shape marketing strategies, and ensure offerings align with customer needs, expectations, and market trends.
- Lead NPD projects through a structured stage gate process to deliver innovative products that address customer needs and align with strategic business objectives.
- Develop and maintain competitive intelligence by tracking market trends, analyzing competitors, and identifying new product opportunities to stay ahead in the market.
- Collaborate with external vendors to develop new products, ensuring seamless delivery, quality, and alignment with business objectives while managing ongoing vendor relationships.
- Partner with the marketing and sales team to create and execute integrated marketing plans, price management and strategy, product launch plans and differentiated product positioning to drive category awareness and sales growth.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain team to support demand forecasting, assist in vendor selection, and contribute to ongoing vendor relationship management to ensure supply continuity and cost efficiency.
- Create and deliver training programs and sales tools for the Customer Service and Sales teams to effectively promote and support new products.
- Attend and execute trade shows to capture valuable voice of customer insights, engage with vendors, and monitor industry trends to inform future product development and strategy.
- Travel routinely to visit vendors (domestic and international), support KAG/Sales teams with key customer presentations and engage with the engineering and manufacturing teams at our KirbyBuilt production facility in Wisconsin. Travel will be routine but not to exceed 25%.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering or a related field.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize against the strategic goals and initiatives of the organization and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional critical thinking and a hands-on, solutions-focused approach to overcoming challenges and achieving objectives.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and presentation across all levels of the organization.
- Action-oriented and results-driven, with a proven track record of delivering measurable outcomes.
- Preferred: Internship or co-op experience in a product category management role.
