CBS News is looking for an Overnight Weekend Assignment Desk Editor for our New York based National Desk. This Assignment Editor helps facilitate editorial coverage decisions for all shows working directly with the Senior Vice President of Newsgathering, National Editor, Bureau Chiefs and senior producers for CBS Mornings, CBS Evening News, Weekend News, CBS Face the Nation, CBS Streaming, CBS Newspath and CBS News Special events to ensure all are aware of national news across the country. This person is the lead editor for Weekend News as well as confirming details of those stories of interest, gathering news elements and deploying coverage teams as needed.
Saturday - Sunday 12am-8am Remote. Hours may vary depending on business needs.
Hiring Salary Range: $66,000.00 - 75,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on various job-related factors, including geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO.
