Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required.
  • CPA candidacy (or pursuing CPA) preferred.
  • 2–3+ years of experience, including public accounting, ideally in alternative investment asset managers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, fund-level returns, and investor deliverables for Private Debt funds.
  • Prepare MD&A on fund performance for senior management.
  • Review fund administrator’s work on Private Debt funds.
  • Prepare and review capital calls and distributions.
  • Track and update investment portfolios for Private Debt funds.
  • Monitor interest receipts across portfolios.
  • Oversee daily cash management, reconciliation with banks.
  • Lead liaison with outside auditors for year-end financials.
  • Collaborate with Investor Relations for fundraising materials and investor data.
  • Coordinate with Tax team on quarterly estimates and year-end allocations.
  • Provide timely communication to internal/external stakeholders as needed.

Based in New York, Audax Private Debt is a leading debt capital partner for North American middle market companies. POSITION SUMMARY

The position is responsible for the financial reporting and accounting for Audax Private Debt based in Boston. The Finance Associate is a key contributor to the Private Debt process and is responsible for the compliance and control processes related to several Private Debt Funds. Private Debt invests in debt securities of middle market companies backed by private equity sponsors via a variety of different investment vehicles. The candidate will work closely with the Investor Relations, CLO, FP&A, Tax and Private Debt Deal teams.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and detail-oriented team player who will thrive in a fast-paced environment and must be able to prioritize and complete all projects with precision in a timely manner. As Audax Private Debt continues to grow, the position will evolve with the direction of the business’ needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preparation and review of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, fund level returns and investor deliverables for various Private Debt funds
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly MD&A on fund performance for senior management
  • Review fund administrator’s work on various Private Debt funds
  • Prepare and review capital calls and distributions
  • Track and update the portfolio of investments for the various Private Debt funds
  • Track interest payment receipts across portfolio team
  • Daily cash management, monitoring, and reconciliation with the bank
  • Take a lead role with the firm’s outside auditor in preparation/review of year-end audited financials
  • Work with the Investor Relations team in preparing fundraising materials and in providing information for investor requests, including fund performance data, fee information and underlying portfolio financial information
  • Work with the Tax team in preparing quarterly tax estimates as well as year‑end tax allocations
  • Be available to provide timely communication to internal and external stakeholders on projects when required
COMPETENCIES

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

LOCATION

Boston, MA. 3 days/week in office. These in office requirements may change based on the needs of the business.

For Massachusetts: The base salary range for this position is $99,000- $120,000. The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation may vary and will be determined based on but not limited to, the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and Audax reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. An employee may also be eligible for annual discretionary incentive compensation based on performance.
