Associate Principal Second & Section Violin

The Winston-Salem Symphony is inviting applications for the positions of Associate Principal Second Violin and Section Violin. There is one Associate Principal position and five Section positions available. The orchestra performs a variety of concerts including Classics cycles, Pops cycles, family concerts, and an annual performance of Handel’s Messiah. The Associate Principal 2nd rate is $116.00 per service with a minimum of 61 services, while the Section rate is $106.00 per service with a minimum of 39 services. Applicants can apply for either or both positions and must be ready to accept an offer if selected.Auditions will take place on September 13, 2026, at Brendle Recital Hall, Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. Candidates are required to prepare specific orchestral excerpts and a solo piece from a standard Classical or Romantic concerto. All audition rounds will be conducted behind a screen to ensure fairness.
