L'Oréal USA, Inc. is seeking an Associate Principal Scientist in Clark, New Jersey, to lead advanced skincare formulation initiatives within the Professional Skin Management domain.

You will drive strategy from concept to transfer, leveraging deep skin biology expertise and a strong record of technical leadership. You will mentor colleagues, collaborate with global teams, and champion digital tools and DoE-driven development to accelerate innovation, while ensuring alignment with quality

Qualifications

• Degree required in Biochemistry, Biological Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field.
• 5+ years in skin formulation development (PhD) or 8+ years (Masters/Bachelors).
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and deliver robust solutions.
• Experience with digital tools and data-driven methodologies (e.g., DoE).
• Ability to navigate a matrix organization and mentor colleagues.

Responsabilités

• Lead projects from framing through launch with new technical innovations.
• Guide formulation strategy and product development across multiple projects.
• Ensure stability of high-potency actives and optimize skin delivery.
• Design experimental plans in skin biology and ingredient chemistry.
• Coordinate with upstream/downstream teams for tech transfer.
• Mentor scientists and share expertise across the team.
• Champion digital transformation and predictive modeling adoption.
