Associate Principal Scientist, Analytical R&D

Our Research Scientists are our Inventors. We identify and target steps in disease mechanisms or pathways that could be inhibited or enhanced. Using innovative thinking, state-of-the-art facilities, and robust scientific methodology, we collaborate to discover the next medical breakthrough.

The Biologics Analytical Research & Development department of our Research & Development Division is seeking applicants for an Associate Principal Scientist position at its Rahway, New Jersey research facility. The Associate Principal Scientist is a laboratory-based role responsible for solving complex analytical problems at the interface of biology, chemistry, and lab informatics to support the development of Biologics drug substances and drug products. The candidate must work well in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment. Responsibilities include developing, qualifying, implementing, troubleshooting, and transferring analytical methods for monoclonal and other complex therapeutic proteins. Additional duties involve developing new assay platforms, benchmarking current techniques to industry standards, and providing technical leadership in experimental design and data interpretation. Effective organizational, multi-tasking, communication skills, scientific leadership, and a publication desire are essential. Experience leading small teams and cross-functional collaboration are preferred.
