Job summary

Allison Transmission in Indianapolis is seeking an Embedded Controls Engineer to lead development of heavy-duty propulsion control systems using model-based design with MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++. You will define system requirements and collaborate with hardware and software teams.

The role requires a BS in a related field and hands-on experience with CAN/J1939, DFMEA, and MIL/SIL/HIL testing in production environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
Experience in Powertrain or Vehicle Embedded Control Systems in relevant industries.
MATLAB/Simulink/C/C++ experience in a production controls environment.
Familiarity with DFMEA development and process.
Familiarity with CAN/J1939 serial data communication system.
Familiarity with power electronics and electro-mechanical components.
Ability to attain a CDL and perform in-vehicle development activities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop system requirements.
Design/Develop/Implement embedded controls in a production environment to meet requirements.
Create/maintain Control System DFMEAs.
Develop/execute control system verification and validation plans.
Lead control system integration design including interfaces and vehicle systems.
Use MIL/SIL/HIL and other test assets for controls development.
Collaborate with internal and external customers to optimize system integration.
