Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company seeks an Associate Level Project Engineer in Redding, California, for the Power Generation unit. This role provides engineering, project management, and technical support to O&M staff for small to medium capital/expense improvements to generation facilities.

This is an ESC represented exempt position. Salary ranges are provided in good faith, with placement near the middle or entry point based on skills, licenses, and bargaining agreements.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an accredited program (US or equivalent).
• Current and active EIT certification.
• Current and active California PE license.
• At least 18 months of engineering and/or project management experience.
• Electrical engineering degree preferred.
• Electrical PE license preferred.
• 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand and enforce the Power Gen safety program and model safe behavior.
• Participate on project teams as discipline engineer or project manager; coordinate with other disciplines.
• Provide design criteria and calculations; ensure reviews, approvals and documentation.
• Prepare project forecast; track progress and provide updates.
• Review material procurement lists, vendor drawings, and spec updates.
• Provide construction support and field inspections; assist with start-up tests.
• Procure long-lead time material; ensure as-built drawings reflect changes.
• Provide direction to consultants/contractors; ensure quality checks and schedule adherence.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders and manage contracts as needed.
• Support O&M and on-call supervision as required in assignment.
