Job summary

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. is seeking a Merchandise Planner at our Global Home Office in Columbus, OH. You will forecast product performance, balance sales, inventory, and financial goals while shaping strategies across domestic and international channels.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage promotions, analyze data with Power BI, and contribute to profitable plans. The ideal candidate has 1+ year planning experience and strong presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or related experience required or equivalent
• 1+ year of Merchandise Planning, Buying, or related experience
• Experience with Power BI and JIRA is a plus
• Proven leadership experience
• Ability to thrive in team-based settings and cross-functional collaboration
• Desire to manage a portion of a multi-billion-dollar business

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and margin through omni execution of brand strategies and promotions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop business strategies using current sales and inventory data
• Communicate changes in promo strategy to cross-functional teams
• Research global market to build compelling and profitable promotional plans
• Present promotional analysis and forecast results to leadership with insights on competitors and trends
• Optimize current season business with planning/marketing
• Coordinate with Price Management for events and promotions
• Audit websites for high-traffic weekends
• Forecast by channel for Sales and AUR based on calendar and results
• Manage promotional calendar and JIRA; assist with administrative tasks

Planners are the strategic drivers of our product teams, shaping the inventory and financial strategy behind every product. Interpreting and balancing current sales, inventory analysis, financial goals, and emerging trends, our Merchandise Planners build the strategies that maximize our product success and profitability. Planners forecast future product performance, establish sales strategies across domestic, international, and e-commerce channels, and strategically manage our inventory around the world.

This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, OH.

What You’ll Do

• Driving sales and margin through maximizing omni execution of brand strategies and promotions
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop business strategies and reacting to change while making strategic decisions based on current sales and inventory information
• Conveying changes in strategy of promos, social events, or secret sales with various cross-functional teams
• Researching the global market and leveraging that information to build the most compelling and profitable promotional plan
• Clearly presenting promotional analysis and performance-to-forecast results to leadership, providing insight on competitive analysis, customer insights, and trend data
• Optimizing current season business in partnership with planning/marketing
• Partnering with Price Management to ensure optimal execution heading into events, offers, and promotions
• Auditing websites to ensure flawless execution heading into high volume and traffic weekends
• Forecasting at the channel level for Sales and AUR based on the promotional calendar and recent results
• Managing the promotional calendar and JIRA, and assisting with administrative tasks as needed

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree or related experience
• 1+ year of Merchandise Planning, Buying, or related experience
• Experience in Power BI and JIRA is a plus
• Passion for the A&F brands and the role
• Proven leadership experience
• Ability to thrive in team-based settings and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional partners
• Desire to take on the responsibility of running a portion of a multi-billion-dollar business
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate confidently with senior-level leaders
