Job summary

Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA, is seeking Associate Pharmacy Technicians for part-time evening and night shifts.

You will assist in filling and dispensing unit dose, IV and chemotherapeutic medications to nursing units and other departments, ensuring accuracy and safety in a fast-paced environment. Required qualifications include completion of a Washington State Board of Pharmacy-certified Level A training program or equivalent, a WA Pharmacy Technician License, and hospital

  • Experience prioritizing telephone calls and handling urgent needs.
  • Three months hospital pharmacy experience under pharmacist supervision.
  • Experience with IV admixture/aseptic techniques.

Description

This posting is for multiple openings of Associate Pharmacy Technician at St. Peter Hospital- Olympia, WA. Part-time positions are available (evening and night shift).

Performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose, IV and chemotherapeutic medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt, safe and accurate manner. Performs all duties in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the Sisters of Providence Mission and Philosophy.

Required Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Level A training program certified by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Washington Pharmacy Technician License upon hire.
  • Experience with telephone call prioritization.
  • Experience with stressful/urgent need situations.
  • Three (3) months practical experience in a hospital pharmacy under the direct supervision of pharmacist.
  • Experienced in IV admixture/aseptic techniques.
Preferred Qualification:
  • One (1) year hospital pharmacy experience.
