Job summary

Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA is seeking an Associate Patient Care Tech for the Obstetrics / Postpartum Unit. This full-time role supports the RN, provides basic nursing care, and helps with patient care documentation.

The position features 12-hour day shifts and on-site teamwork in a Magnet-designated hospital. Qualified candidates will have CNA or EMT training, current BLS certification, and experience with basic data entry.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CNA program, or first semester nursing program, or EMT program.
• Current National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• Experience with basic data entry.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients under supervision of RN.
• Collect and report information to the supervising RN and document patient care activities.
• Assists with various patient care tasks within Obstetrics/Postpartum and related areas.
• Support cardiopulmonary and other limited nursing care as needed by unit assignments.

Job description

Associate Patient Care Tech in our Obstetrics / Postpartum Unit atProvidence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. This position is Full-Time and will work 12-hour Day shifts.

Under general supervision by the RN, the Patient Care Tech is responsible for providing basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients as needed, within their specified area(s) (see below). The Patient Care Tech is responsible for collecting and reporting of information to the supervising RN and completion of all patient care related documentation. Patient Care Techs are assigned as follows: Cardiopulmonary - basic respiratory, cardiology, nursing care, Medical/Surgical/Oncology – basic respiratory, nursing care, and assists with orthopedic devices (adult, geriatric), Resource Float Pool – basic respiratory, nursing care.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training For hires after 10/31/16:
  • Completion of a CNA program, Or
  • Completion of first semester nursing program, Or
  • EMT program completion.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Experience with basic data entry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework/Training EKG Training.
• 1 year of acute patient care experience, Or
• 6 months experience in a direct patient care environment.
