Optum in West Islip, NY is seeking an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our care delivery team. The role supports patient registration, insurance verification and coordination of follow-up care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, collecting demographics, scheduling referrals, and assisting with medical assisting duties as needed. The position offers full-time hours, weekday schedule, and opportunities to grow within a clinician-led organization.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 1+ years of computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience.
  • Ability to travel to Nassau/Suffolk regions as business requires.
  • Ability to be cross trained as a medical assistant.

  • Work cohesively with fellow employees to achieve team goals.

  • Assist physician and clinical staff by coordinating follow up care for patients; schedules referral appointments and obtains authorization for diagnostic testing.
  • Assists with other tasks as assigned.

Urgent Care, part of Optum, has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed orientedAssociate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.

Schedule:

Office is openseven days a week. This role would consist of a 37.5-hour work week, Monday 6:50 am to 3:00 pm, Wednesday 6:50 am to 10:00 pm and Thursday 1:50 pm to 10:00 pm. And Saturdays to 1:50 pm to 10:00pm. Schedule may change due to business needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists with other tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of experience of computer proficiency experience with Microsoft office programs
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
  • Epic experience
  • 1+ years of experience working in medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)

  • Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
