Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia, seeks an Associate Pathologist to join HCA Healthcare Pathology Services. The role supports a wide range of surgical pathology cases, with emphasis on GI and liver specimens.

Candidates should be AB/CP board certified, licensed in Virginia or FCVS preferred, and able to sign out general surgical pathology, perform frozen sections, and participate in tumor boards.

Qualifications

• AP/CP Board Certification required.
• Ability to sign out general surgical pathology and perform frozen sections.
• Virginia licensed or FCVS in place preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Pathology volumes: surgical and non-GYN cytology handled with shared call.
• Work includes signing out surgical pathology cases and rapid on-site assessments as needed.
• Participation in tumor boards and multidisciplinary tumor conferences.
