HCA Healthcare Pathology Services seeks an Associate Pathologist to be based at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. The role includes signing out general surgical pathology and performing frozen sections, with call responsibilities shared among a small team.

Preferred candidates are AP/CP board-certified, licensed (or FCVS), and fellowship-trained in GI and liver pathology. The practice handles 3–4 pathologists with substantial volumes and offers relocation assistance and a competitive

Qualifications

• AP/CP Board Certification required.
• Ability to sign out general surgical pathology and perform frozen sections.
• Virginia licensed or FCVS in place preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Sign out general surgical pathology and perform frozen sections.
• Share call responsibilities (avg. 0-1 per night) and minimal on-site after-hours procedures.
• Work within a 3-4 pathologist practice handling GI, breast, GU and general surgery cases.
• Participate in tumor boards and collaborate with subspecialty colleagues.
