Job summary

Northlake Baptist Church is seeking an Associate Pastor of Students and Families to provide leadership for family ministries from birth through college age and to oversee SKA Preschool. The role emphasizes gospel-centered discipleship, volunteer leadership, and collaboration with parents to grow every generation in Christ.

The pastor will join the pastoral staff, plan weekly ministries and retreats, and teach biblically sound, applicable messages while fostering strong family relationships

Qualifications

• Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and growing relationship with Him.
• Demonstrated calling to pastoral ministry and discipleship of the next generation.
• Strong agreement with the doctrine, mission, and values of Northlake Baptist Church.
• Bachelor’s degree in ministry, biblical studies, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in student, children’s, or family ministry leadership preferred.
• Proven ability to lead teams, develop volunteers, and manage ministry programs effectively.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and strategic vision for all family ministries from birth through college age.
• Develop and implement a cohesive discipleship strategy to support spiritual growth of children, students, and families.
• Create biblically grounded, engaging, welcoming ministry environments aligned with church mission and values.
• Recruit, train, equip, schedule, and lead volunteer teams across family ministry areas.
• Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers, encouraging family discipleship at home.
• Ensure effective communication regarding ministry events, schedules, and goals.
• Lead and oversee ministries for middle school, high school, and college-aged students.
• Plan weekly gatherings, Bible studies, discipleship groups, retreats, camps, and mission opportunities.
• Provide biblically sound teaching that is engaging and gospel-centered.
• Develop student leaders and encourage church involvement.
• Foster relationships with students and families through intentional discipleship and community engagement.
• Oversee ministry programming for children from birth through 5th grade, including Sunday and midweek programs, VBS, camps, and events.
• Evaluate and implement biblically faithful, age-appropriate curriculum.
• Ensure safety, organization, and volunteer support in children’s ministry environments.
• Oversee volunteer screening, check-in, classroom management, and security procedures.
• Provide leadership oversight to SKA Preschool director and alignment with church mission.
• Encourage Christ-centered culture among preschool staff, students, and families.
• Serve as an active member of the pastoral staff and participate in planning and events.
• Assist with baptisms, weddings, funerals, counseling, visitation, and discipleship.
