Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Master of Divinity from an accredited seminary, Bible college or recognized theological institution, or in that educational path.
• Experience in church leadership is preferable (2 years minimum).

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead pastor in developing and implementing a comprehensive discipleship strategy for LSCC.
• Implement and oversee the plan for disciple-making through all age group ministries.
• Provide oversight and encouragement for volunteer groups and ministries.
• Assist the lead pastor in providing pastoral care for the needs of the church body, including biblical counseling, spiritual guidance, hospital and home visitation.
• Support those engaged in the work of disciple making.
• Plan and implement an outreach strategy for this congregation into the community surrounding LSCC.
• Preach and teach as needed.
• Provide administration for day-to-day life of LSCC including property management, calendaring, and congregation communication.
• Assist in planning and overseeing the annual calendar.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Associate Pastor provides spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and administrative oversight to support the Lead Pastor and advance the church’s mission of making disciples. This full-time role focuses on shepherding the congregation, cultivating intentional discipleship pathways, and ensuring operational continuity in and for our congregation. The ideal candidate exhibits a deep love for our Lord Jesus Christ, a strong servant’s heart, collaborative leadership skills, and a commitment to spiritual growth within the Community.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPECTATIONS

• The Associate Pastor is expected to be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
• The Associate Pastor will teach the Bible as the final authority over the life of every disciple and use it as a guide to equip others as effective disciple makers.
• The Associate Pastor is expected to live an exemplary life modeling the call, character, and competencies required of a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
• The Associate Pastor is expected to model the call to make disciples.
• The Associate Pastor is expected to be a servant leader.

ACCOUNTABILITY / REPORTING

As a member of the pastoral team, the Associate Pastor reports to the Lead Pastor or Elder Team in all matters of church administration and the administration of his duties. In the absence of a Lead Pastor, the Associate Pastor will report to the Elder Team during any absence of the Lead Pastor.
