Job summary

Equity Packaging, Inc. is seeking a packaging R&D lead in Jersey City, NJ. Hybrid work arrangement with cross-functional collaboration to drive growth through innovative packaging solutions and supplier coordination.

You will lead development, testing, and reporting, manage resources, and champion new packaging technologies across blow molding, injection molding, and thermoforming, including flexible and corrugated formats.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Packaging Science or Engineering in the similar field.
• Minimum 2-5 years of R&D experience in the Food & Beverage experience is required.
• Communication skills should be good orally & written.

Responsibilities

• Lead new packaging development and supplier communication individually, arrange packaging test and deliver the final report.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver projects for top and bottom-line growth.
• Lead, inspire and motivate R&D talent and colleagues.
• Indirectly manage internal and external resources to advance projects in a systematic, timely and technically rigorous fashion.
• Arrange packaging evaluations and consumer handling panels.
• Serve as technical and program subject matter expert internally and externally.
• Field, respond to and record results of requests for technical support, especially from production factories and customers.
• Create, manage and approve specifications.
• Create and document approaches for, and results of, experimental and commercial trials.
• Work with packaging suppliers and other suppliers.
• Successful track record of developing and commercializing new and improved packaging and packaging technologies.
• Significant experience with upstream and downstream blow molding processes required, as well as solid understanding of injection molding and thermoforming.
• Experience with flexible packaging, corrugated and paper-based formats.
• Significant experience conducting trials in commercial factories, at suppliers' facilities and in lab settings.
