Job summary

Merck in Rahway, NJ is seeking an Associate Specialist in Engineering for Platform Assembly and Packaging Technical Leadership. You will work with senior technical leaders to solve manufacturing challenges, support new product introductions, and improve packaging and device assembly processes across a global network.

You will gain hands-on experience in problem solving, risk management, technology transfer, and lifecycle improvements while building a foundation for a career in pharmaceutical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in packaging, mechanical, chemical, or biochemical engineering; pharmaceutical science; chemistry; or a related discipline.
• Experience or coursework in packaging, device assembly, or manufacturing processes.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Interest in cross-functional collaboration and delivering robust technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide packaging and assembly knowledge to ensure rigorous technical execution across platforms.
• Develop and execute robust technical plans for device assembly, packaging, and distribution.
• Analyze data, participate in technical reviews, and explore alternative approaches.
• Support risk assessment, mitigation, and communication strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet safety, quality, and supply standards.
• Develop relationships with stakeholders to enable technical support and lifecycle changes.
