Description:

The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants must have specialty certification in nuclear medicine, either current American Board of Nuclear Medicine certification or a CAQ in nuclear radiology from the American Board of Radiology, and have completed a nuclear medicine or nuclear radiology ACGME-approved training program.

Teaching responsibilities may include providing daily clinical nuclear medicine services, supervising and teaching residents and fellows during procedures and conferences, and participating in interdisciplinary conferences with clinical sub-specialties. Candidates will be expected to lecture at assigned resident didactic conferences and nuclear radiology fellow lecture series. Attendance and teaching at case conferences, as well as participation in journal club meetings, is required. The successful candidate will be an accomplished educator and may be expected to serve in an administrative, educational leadership role within the Nuclear Medicine division. Teaching of medical students will be limited to those rotating through the Department of Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and Pennsylvania Hospital.

Clinical responsibilities may include Clinical responsibilities may include performing and interpreting nuclear medicine stress tests and EKGs, evaluating and treating patients with therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, and conducting general nuclear medicine studies. Candidates must have extensive PET/CT experience.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include leading the development of a focused body of research in nuclear medicine. The candidate will also be expected to mentor junior faculty, providing strong guidance and support in developing clinical or basic research careers. The ideal candidate will have a world-renowned reputation for innovative techniques and have an impact in the field of nuclear medicine. Evidence of scholarship is required in the clinician-educator track.
