The Boeing Company is seeking an Associate or Experienced Assembly/Process and Production Support Engineer (Level 2 or 3) to join the Materials and Processes Engineering team 100% onsite in North Charleston, SC.

Reporting to M&P Engineering at Boeing South Carolina, the role focuses on defining tools, processes and materials, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive quality and efficiency on the 787 program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Defines requirements, tests and approves tools, equipment, materials and processes used in design, manufacture and maintenance.
  • Produces specifications to deploy tools, equipment, materials and processes.
  • Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
  • Promotes standardization of assembly best practices across activities.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies for business needs.
  • Develops and qualifies new tools, equipment, materials and processes; integrates new tech.
  • Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers.
  • Conducts analysis to determine causes of tool/material/process failure.
  • Implements corrective and preventive actions.
  • Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical and schedule requirements.
  • Demonstrates a mindset of Safety and First Pass Quality.
  • Exhibits Boeing Values and Behaviors.

M&P Engineering is seeking an Associate or Experienced Assembly/Process and Production Support Engineer (Level 2 or 3) to join our team in North Charleston, South Carolina.

This position will primarily support the Materials and Processes Engineering team at the Boeing South Carolina (BSC) site. The M&P team at BSC supports production sustainability efforts and implementation of new technology for the 787 program. In addition, this position involves technical collaboration with other engineering teams at BSC and other sites.

Position Responsibilities
  • Defines requirements, tests and approves tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the design, manufacture and maintenance of products
  • Produces specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes
  • Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations
  • Promotes standardization of assembly best practices across business activities
  • Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs
  • Develops and qualifies new tools, equipment, materials, and processes to meet requirements. Integrates new technologies as appropriate
  • Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements
  • Conducts analysis to characterize performance or determine reasons for failure of tools, materials, parts or processes
  • Implements corrective and preventive actions
  • Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
  • Possesses and encourages others to have a mindset of Safety and First Pass Quality

Location

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. You will be required to work onsite in North Charleston, SC.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
  • 3+ years of engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of CATIA/ENOVIA
  • Experience with automated drillers, positive feed drilling, and hand drilling
  • Experience designing and fabricating functional prototypes
  • Experience with drilling, fastening, and assembly
  • Experience with hands‑on work in a production environment
  • Experience with process improvements and trouble shooting
  • Technical writing experience including test plans, reports and recommendations
  • Experience communicating with cross‑functional teams

Summary pay range for Associate (Level 2): $91,800 - $124,200

Summary pay range for Experienced (Level 3): $112,200 - $151,800
