Job summary

Charles River seeks an Associate Operations Specialist for the Insourcing Solutions Department in Seattle to provide ongoing support across sites. Base at CRADL Facility in Seattle with assignment to various sites as needed.

Responsibilities include animal care, health observations, administrative support, and staff training. Bachelor's preferred; LAT/LATG/CVT/LVT encouraged. Monday-Saturday shift noted; base hourly range $27–$29.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Two plus years in animal care within a research laboratory program.
  • Certification/Licensure: LAT/LATG/CVT/LVT/RVT certifications preferred.

  • Monitor animal health and welfare.
  • Perform daily animal health observations and animal husbandry duties; include equipment checks, feeding and watering, cage changes/cleaning, and recording health concerns.
  • Provide environmental enrichment appropriate to species.
  • Assist with breeding and weaning procedures as needed.
  • Assist with administrative needs including cage card management, data entry, and census data management.

Job Summary

We are seeking anAssociate Operations Specialistfor our Insourcing Solutions Department to providecontinuing support services to our Charles River clients throughout the Seattle areawhere you will be assigned to various sites based upon need.The AOShome base is our CRADL Facility in Seattle.

The AOS willprovide support in the following areas: animalcare, technical, training to include:

  • Monitor animal health and welfare
  • Perform daily animal health observations and animal husbandry duties: daily equipment checks; providing appropriate food and water; performing cage changing and/or cage cleaning; recording animal health concerns
  • Provide environmental enrichment appropriate to species
  • May be tasked to assist with breeding and weaning procedures
  • May be tasked to assist with administrative needs including cage card management, data entry and review, manage census data.
  • Provide client support and handle inquiries on separations and transfers
  • Provide instruction toothers on husbandry and technical procedures.
  • Attend and participate in on-the-job and classroom training sessions
  • Act as subject matter expert in all animal husbandry and routine technical skills
  • Perform trainingofstaffon husbandry
  • May perform technical training of surgical techniques: intravenous or intradermal dose administration, manage breeding operations, perform comprehensive necropsy and tissue collection, perform routine assays or laboratory support.
  • Perform surgical preparation, anesthesia administration and monitoring and post-surgical observations and associated record keeping
Job Qualifications

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Associate Operations Specialistposition:

  • Education:High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.). Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Animal Science, Life Sciences or related discipline preferred.
  • Experience:Two plus years of animal care, handling and technical experience within a research laboratory program
  • Certification/Licensure: AALAS certification at the LAT; LATG, CVT, LVT, RVT certification preferred

The hourly range for this position is $27-$29/hour. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday 7AM-3:30PM
