What We Do

Associate Operations Counsel provides in-house legal and regulatory advice relative to topics affecting the mortgage servicing and origination industry, particularly around mortgage servicing document requirements; provides legal counsel to operational teams; drafts contracts, policies and product forms; occasionally interfaces with regulatory authorities and reports to management on changes in applicable law and regulatory trends in the industry.

What You’ll Do

• Facilitate the business objectives of the Division(s) supported and Company by providing timely and effective legal support to as well as minimizing potential legal exposure and risk.
• Responsible for providing and rendering practical, timely, and high quality legal counsel and guidance to the Company division(s) and department(s) to which you are assigned.
• Working with the independent Corporate Compliance Department to ensure compliance throughout the organization with regard to applicable laws and regulations.

What You’ll Bring

• Admitted to practice law in the US
• Typically has 1-3 years professional experience in area of specialization
• Licensed to practice law, in good standing
• Knows fundamental concepts, practices and procedures related to mortgage servicing and origination
• Knowledge of Federal and State regulations
• Developed legal research, written and verbal communication skills
• Good organizational skills with the ability to multi task, prioritize and work under pressure
• Demonstrated ability to manage workload and balance competing priorities.
• Ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers, subordinates and external company contacts.

Pay Range: $112,400.00 - $149,800.00 Annually

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
