Job summary

The University of Colorado Boulder’s Ombuds Office invites applications for an Associate Ombuds. This role provides confidential, informal assistance to students, staff, faculty and administrators, helping them understand options, facilitate communication and provide referrals.

The Associate Ombuds has no administrative authority and follows the IA Ombuds ethics. We offer a hybrid work model with in-person and remote hours.

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time experience in an Ombuds office or equivalent.
• JD from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Willingness to become an OCP-Certified Ombuds Practitioner when eligible.
• Experience with mediation or alternative dispute resolution is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Confer with individuals in conflict and review options to resolve concerns.
• Provide conflict-related workshops, training and outreach to the university community.
• Facilitate or mediate conversations to improve understanding and communication.
• Assist constituents in navigating university procedures and policies.
