Job Description:

This posting is for multiple technology positions across various Teams in Southwest's Warrior Hire Program. The mission of the Warrior Hire Program is to recruit and hire transitioning Veterans, guiding and supporting them through the start of their corporate careers by providing opportunities for professional growth, camaraderie, and mentorship. Additional details:

  • Enterprise Mobile Foundation (EMF) team: Focuses on collecting test metrics to evaluate connectivity used by front-line employees, owning a testing platform for real-time and historical user experience analysis. Candidates should have experience with mobility management, connectivity, and onboard WiFi services, with the ability to:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain cellular networks (LTE, 5G) within airport facilities, ensuring optimal coverage and performance.
  • Work with DAS, small cells, and macro cell deployments tailored for airport environments.
  • Collaborate with wireless carriers, infrastructure vendors, and airport authorities for cellular improvements.
  • Perform RF site surveys, spectrum analysis, and signal propagation studies.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, FCC, TSA, and airport regulations.
  • Participate in network security assessments.
  • Support integration of cellular with other airport IT systems.
  • Maintain documentation of network architecture and configurations.
  • Experience with airport-specific infrastructure (e.g., ARINC, SITA networks).
  • Understanding of emergency communication systems (e.g., FirstNet).
  • Knowledge of FAA/TSA communication infrastructure requirements.

This Dallas-based role is offered as a remote position, which may require travel for trainings, meetings, and conferences. Most work can be performed remotely within the Dallas area. U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. is required, with no sponsorship available.

Education:

  • Entry-level experience in network hardware, communication protocols, WAN connectivity, and diagnostic tools.

Physical Abilities:

  • Ability to work from a desk or office for extended periods.
  • Effective communication in English.
  • Proficiency in using computers and office tools.

Other Qualifications:

  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Adhere to attendance standards.

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive salary from $86,850 to $96,500 annually, with potential bonuses and benefits including flight privileges, 401(k) contributions, profit sharing, health insurance, and more. Details at https://careers.southwestair.com/benefits.
