A leading creative studio known for its innovative work with top brands is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Motion Director to join their team. You’ll be leading the charge on dynamic projects, pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling, and mentoring a team of talented motion designers. As an Associate Motion Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in crafting compelling narratives through animation. You’ll lead small teams of motion designers, providing expert guidance and mentorship while also remaining hands-on with the animation process. Your creativity and technical expertise will bring innovative ideas to life, captivating audiences and elevating brand experiences.

  • This role is fully remote, working PST hours.
  • This is a contract, W2 role, approx 3 months with a possible extension

What You’ll Do:

Lead and mentor small teams of motion designers on complex projects, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
Create stunning, high-quality animations that meet project briefs and exceed client expectations.
Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure cutting-edge creative output.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, writers, and producers, to deliver seamless and integrated projects.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines.
Provide constructive feedback and direction to team members, nurturing their growth and development.

Must-Haves:

7+ years of demonstrated experience in motion design, with a strong emphasis on After Effects.
Proven experience leading and mentoring teams of motion designers.
Expert-level proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.
Experience working with Figma.
Strong understanding of design fundamentals, animation timing, and storytelling principles.
Basic audio editing and mixing skills.
Ability to rapidly scale across assets, maintain organized files, and iterate independently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide effective motion direction and feedback.

Nice-to-Haves:

Experience with Cinema 4D.
After Effects scripting ability.
3D animation skills.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $83 to $90 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
