Associate Merchandise Manager (Buyer)

About the Role:

The Associate Merchandise Manager will work directly with vendors and retailers alongside the Merchandise Managers to select products and analyze pricing and buying strategies. They will utilize analytical skills and a team-oriented attitude to negotiate, develop promotional offers, and address vendor or retailer inquiries. The role involves developing strategies and managing daily activities for assigned categories to drive sales and margins. The position requires strong organizational, communication skills, and a personable approach to foster career growth.

Scheduled Days: Monday through Friday
Salary Range: $54,690 to $72,420 (based on skills and qualifications)

Responsibilities include:

• Assist in managing product mix for retailers, including product selection, evaluation, and review.
• Maintain retailer and retail pricing, and update product information.
• Respond to retailer inquiries and explain product decisions.
• Implement changes to stock and new product introductions.
• Support biannual Market convention preparations and negotiate trade show specials.
• Lead negotiations with external vendors.
• Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and Pricing on vendor costs.
• Develop and negotiate promotional offers.
• Manage inventory to meet turnover and service level goals.

Education & Experience:

• Four-year degree in Marketing, Sales, or Business, or equivalent experience in retail, sales, or wholesale/distribution.
• Proficiency in MS Office and computer skills.
