This is an interim Associate Medical Resource Director position for a minimum of 6 weeks up to a maximum of 12 weeks.

The Medical Resource Director is a member of the market leadership team whose purpose is to ensure quality care within their region. The MRD provides direct client services and administrative duties in a ratio appropriate for market size. For this position, Medical Providers are defined as Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners. The Medical Resource Director will demonstrate leadership and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and mentorship to all medical providers within the market
- Collaborate with Human Resources for the practice needs
- Assist with the recruitment, screening, and interviewing, of new medical provider candidates
- Ensure compliance with applicable requirements, laws, and regulations to maintain quality-of-care documentation
- Ensure practice and providers remain current with mental health trends, evidence-based care, and appropriate billing and coding practices
- Provide direct feedback to leadership regarding strategic functioning of the program and work collaboratively with directors to identify and meet the program goals
- Represent the medical staff at all leadership team meetings
- Promote quality communication between the therapy provider and medical provider teams
- Help facilitate the onboarding process, including coordinating training for new medical providers
- Monitor applicable communication channels (e.g., Teams, Valant Secure Message, Flock) for assistance requests from medical providers and internal communications
- Review all time off requests for medical providers and approve or deny in a timely manner
- Respond to day-to-day operations and issues in a supportive and directive fashion
- Address the medical provider team when corrective action is necessary, in a supportive and guiding way
- Conduct medical provider peer pod meetings on a regular basis
- Assist in the development of new policies and procedures for medical providers, notifying and instruction them on said policies accordingly
- Responsible for other tasks assigned by management for effective practice operations
- Coordinates the implementation of new programs and initiatives with the operational team
- Ensure productivity of medical providers
- Must consistently meet timely documentation expectations (minimum of 85% signed in 72 hours for past 3 months)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)approved Physician Assistant training program or Master’s degree or higher in Advanced Practice Registered Nursing (APRN)
- Current state Physician Assistant license, valid and in good standing or Current state Nurse Practitioner license, valid and in good standing
- Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or nationally certified as a Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) with prescriptive authority
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in psychopharmacology
- Minimum of 1 year employment with TCN
- Knowledge of psychotropic medication indications, contraindications, dosing, and side effects
- Knowledge of state/federal rules and regulations as they apply to the practice of medicine in mental health
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of psychiatric care
- Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology
- Understand and comply with HIPAA
- Strong computer abilities and proficiency with electronic medical records
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team, especially in stressful situations
- CPR Certified (or willing to get certification) through an accredited program
- Desire to do a thorough job in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in outpatient mental health (Preferred)
- Knowledge of current standards, principles, and practices of psychiatric care (Preferred)
- Knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, methods, issues, and approaches in mental health. (Preferred)
- Knowledge of developmental and health issues of emerging adults (Preferred)
- Specialization within psychiatry via CAQ, PMHNP or PCNS (Preferred)
- Previous leadership experience (Preferred)
