Qualifications

Job Title : Associate Medical Director for Mental Health Telehealth Services

Location : Remote (Telehealth - Licensed in New York)

Position Type : Contract (1099)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Psychiatrist, Neuropsychiatrist, Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician (MD or DO) to be one of two leaders to oversee our clinical operations for our growing telehealth practice in the state of New York. In this role, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and medical oversight of clinical provider staff and clinical care activities and ensuring the highest quality of mental health services through tele-health administration. As a partial owner of a clinical care professional corporation, you will also be tasked with the ongoing management and review of clinical protocols and quality assurance metrics to ensure compliance with both internal standards and state-specific telehealth regulations. Additionally, this role has the opportunity to provide brief assessment and medication management on a contract basis to our patients. This position provides concierge level medication management to patients.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership and Oversight

• Provide medical leadership and oversight to a team of licensed mental health professionals, ensuring evidence-based practices and the highest standard of patient care.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to develop and implement clinical policies, protocols, and best practices in a telehealth setting.
• Conduct regular case reviews, supervise complex cases, and support clinical decision-making.

Administrative and Operational Management

• Serve as one of the primary points of contact for clinical escalations, addressing patient care concerns as needed.
• Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements for telehealth, including patient privacy, licensure, and documentation standards.
• Work closely with the leadership team to set and achieve strategic goals, enhance operational efficiencies, and support the growth of telehealth services.
• Participate in virtual quarterly meetings as part of your leadership role.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and provider performance.
• Implement quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient care, accessibility, and satisfaction.
• Ensure that services meet legal, ethical, and accreditation standards, maintaining a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Engage in compliance activities with an estimated time commitment of 4 hours per month.

Professional Development and Training

• Mentor, train, and support the professional development of clinical team members.
• Stay informed on telehealth regulations, emerging mental health trends, and advancements in care modalities.
• Promote a collaborative and supportive environment for both clinical and non-clinical team members.

Qualifications

• Education : MD / DO in Psychiatry, Family Medicine or relevant specialty, licensed to practice in New York.
• Experience : 5+ years of clinical experience in mental health care; 2+ years in a leadership role preferred.
• Licensure : Must hold an active, unrestricted medical license in the United States and the State of New York and DEA license.
• Certification : Board-certified in Psychiatry or a related field preferred but not required.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong understanding of telehealth regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
• Proven leadership experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), telehealth platforms, and other digital tools.
• Experience working in medical settings, on integrated teams in health professions training programs preferred. Experience teaching in residency programs or working in clinical settings is preferred.

Compensation

• Patient Visits : Paid hourly rate for patient care services. (Starting at $150 per hour)
• P.C. Owner / Medical Director Responsibilities : FMV (Fair Market Value) rate for medical director duties, including compliance activities. Expected time for medical director / compliance responsibilities is approximately 4 hours per month.
