Job summary

Providence Swedish is seeking a Medical Assistant I to support licensed practitioners with basic patient care and related administrative tasks at Swedish First Hill, Seattle.

The role requires completion of accredited MA training, Washington MA certification, and BLS within 30 days. Entry-level clinic experience is welcomed, with a patient-centered care approach and on-site work. We offer competitive benefits and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school with hands-on clinical training for medical assistants.
  • Washington MA Certification on hire; BLS within 30 days of hire.
  • Within 30 days of hire: BLS - American Heart Association.
  • Clinic experience (0-6 months) as a medical assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing basic patient care under licensed practitioner delegation.
  • Perform administrative and clinical duties in accordance with policies and regulations.

Description

The MA I works unders the delegation of a licensed practioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties. An MA I is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications


  • Coursework/Training Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants Or

  • Coursework/Training Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program Or

  • Coursework/Training Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or

  • Coursework/Training Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration Or

  • Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification

  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

  • Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months)



Preferred Qualifications


  • 6 months Prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment.

  • 6 months Previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR).

Pay Range: $24.27 - $36.37. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
