Job summary

Providence Swedish Health Services, DBA Swedish Medical Group, in Shoreline, WA is seeking a Medical Assistant I to support licensed practitioners and provide basic patient care. You will assist in clinical and administrative tasks within established policies and procedures.

The role requires MA training, Washington MA Certification, and BLS (American Heart Association). Clinic experience with EHR is preferred in a patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants
  • Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program
  • Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces
  • Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
  • Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification
  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months)

Description

The MA I works unders the delegation of a licensed practioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties. An MA I is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:
  • Coursework/Training Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants Or
  • Coursework/Training Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program Or
  • Coursework/Training Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or
  • Coursework/Training Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration Or

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 months Prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment.
  • 6 months Previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR).
