Job summary

The Providence Medical Foundation is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA II) to support licensed practitioners and help deliver patient-focused care in our clinic. The MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in clinical tasks for the assigned site, following policies and procedures.

Required qualifications include graduation from an accredited medical assisting program or apprenticeship, or at least one year of MA work with vital signs, injections, and medication

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school with hands-on clinical medical assisting training.
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
• Or two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months).

Job description

The Medical Assistant (MA II) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A Medical Assistant (MA II) performs all aspects of the Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An Medical Assistant (MA II) is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, Or
• Coursework/Training: Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program. Or
• Coursework/Training: Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months).

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 months of experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment.
• 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR).
