Description

The Medical Assistant (MA) I works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met through both administrative and clinical duties. An MA I is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications
  1. Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants. Or
  2. Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program. Or
  3. Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces. Or
  4. Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes clinical skills such as obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration. Or
  5. Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  6. Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months).
Preferred Qualifications
  1. 6 months prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  2. 6 months previous experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
