Job summary

L3Harris in Waco, TX seeks an Associate Mechanical Engineer to support new product development and factory operations. You will translate product requirements into mechanical specifications and test plans, and perform verification testing.

Collaborate with mechanical designers on CAD models and documentation, and generate ECOs as needed. The role offers daily hands-on engineering work in a fast-paced defense technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support for new product development and factory support.
• Translate product requirements into mechanical specifications and test plans.
• Execute verification testing per the mechanical specification and test plan.
• Conduct design analysis and testing (structural and thermal) to prove design meets customer requirements.
• Understand customer needs, generate test procedures and execute tests.
• Generate and/or process ECOs as required.
• Work with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation.

Job Location: Waco, Texas

Job Description:

• Provide mechanical engineering support for both new product development activities as well as factory support of existing products
• Translate product requirements into a mechanical specification and test plan to be used for development
• Execute verification testing as defined by the mechanical specification and test plan
• Conduct design analysis and testing, both structural and thermal, to prove design will meet customer requirements
• Responsible for understanding customer needs, generating test procedures and finally executing the test
• Generate and/or process engineering change orders (ECO’s) as required
• Work directly with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation

Qualifications:

• To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or have completed their Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.
