Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Canoga Park, CA is seeking an Associate, Mechanical Engineer to support new product development and factory operations. You will work with mechanical designers on CAD models and documentation and manage ECOs to ensure design changes are implemented smoothly.

Candidates should be pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related engineering, with preferred exposure to CAD/FEA and structural analysis.

Job Description

• Provide mechanical engineering support for both new product development activities as well as factory support of existing products
• Work directly with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation
• Generate and/or process engineering change orders (ECO’s) as required.

Qualifications

• To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics,Materials Science Engineering or related field or have completed their Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.

Preferred Skills

• CAD or analysis (FEA) tools exposure, and/or experience in mechanical design or analysis of electronic systems, structures and mechanisms
• Must be able to apply the principles of Structural Mechanics to predict internal stresses and structural instabilities
• Familiarity with finite element methods and fatigue
• Familiarity with finite element methods and fatigue and damage tolerance principles

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $68,000 - $126,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including relocation stipend, 401(k), EAP, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
