Job summary

Power Design is seeking a mechanical designer in Saint Petersburg, FL to work on HVAC load calculations, equipment selections, and ductwork and piping layouts for large-scale projects. You will coordinate design solutions, ensure quality standards, and collaborate with design and project teams.

Qualified candidates have a Mechanical Engineering degree, 1–3 years of experience, and knowledge of IPC/IMC/IBC/ASHRAE codes. Revit experience is preferred.

About The Position…

The mechanical designer at Power Design is the brain behind the design of mechanical systems on our large-scale projects. As the mechanical designer, you’ll work on HVAC load calculations, equipment selections, and ductwork and piping layouts.

here’s what we’re looking for…
  • A team player who always acts with customers in mind and thrives in a constantly changing and evolving environment and has 1-3 years of relevant mechanical design experience.
  • Revit experience preferred.
  • Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Detailed knowledge of mechanical and plumbing codes. (IPC, IMC, IBC, ASHRAE)
  • An excellent communicator who is able to read and interpret blueprints, submittals and specifications and perform basic plumbing calculations.
  • Knowledge of HVAC load calculations using Trane Trace or similar HVAC load and energy analysis programs, as well as experience in duct sizing, layout and design for air systems.
