Associate Manufacturing Technician-Insulation & Sizing 2nd shift

Position Summary

As an Associate Manufacturing Technician (2nd Shift) in the Insulation & Sizing department, you will be responsible for conducting mechanical assembly, disassembly, and installation activities related to the production of power transformers.

Hours: 4:30 p.m.-12:00 a.m. (CST)

Essential Functions

• Perform manufacturing tasks such as loading and unloading machinery and operating non-CNC equipment, including gluing, clamping, painting, coating, testing, and oil filling equipment.
• Assemble and disassemble parts, align, and fasten assemblies using hand and power tools per specifications.
• Measure and adjust parts with measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
• Inspect, verify, and document quality to ensure units meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Connect, crimp, solder, and braze internal leads and wiring according to specifications.
• Wrap, tape, or insulate leads and wires following work instructions.
• Perform electrical tests to confirm proper wiring and insulation.
• Follow prints, bills of material, and work instructions for processing and assembly.
• Disassemble units for part replacement or shipping.
• Fabricate wooden parts, fixtures, and packaging for delivery.
• Operate equipment for vacuuming, oil filling, and recovery safely.
• Clean and lubricate parts as needed.
• Handle and store materials safely.
• Follow standard procedures to meet safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Perform TPM tasks and practice 6S.
• Operate material handling equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
• Assist other manufacturing areas and support supervisors.
• Adhere to company policies and safety/environmental standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with less than two years of experience or training.
• Intermediate mechanical/technical skills and experience with hand and power tools.
• Basic math, geometry, and computer skills, especially MS Office.
• Knowledge of industrial measuring tools.

Physical and Mental Characteristics

• Ability to safely use tools and measurement devices.
• Ability to work at heights, climb stairs, and inspect work.
• Read, write, follow instructions, and judge work quality.
• Operate powered equipment and work in indoor temperatures.
• Stand/walk for 6-8 hours, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive movements.
• Use PPE as required.
