Associate Manufacturing Technician Insulation - 2nd Shift

Position Summary

Perform mechanical assembly, disassembly, and installation tasks associated with manufacturing power transformers.

Essential Functions

• Perform manufacturing tasks such as loading/unloading machinery and operating non-CNC equipment, including gluing, clamping, painting, coating, testing, and oil filling.
• Assemble/disassemble parts or units; position, align, and fasten assemblies using hand and power tools according to specifications.
• Measure and adjust parts with scales, calipers, and micrometers.
• Inspect, verify, and document quality to meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Connect, crimp, solder, and braze internal leads and wiring.
• Wrap, tape, or insulate leads and wires as instructed.
• Perform basic electrical tests for wiring and insulation.
• Follow prints, BOMs, and work instructions for component processing and assembly.
• Disassemble units for part replacement or shipping.
• Fabricate wooden parts, fixtures, and packaging.
• Operate equipment for vacuuming, oil filling, and recovery safely.
• Clean and lubricate parts and assemblies.
• Handle materials safely and store properly.
• Follow standard procedures to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
• Perform TPM tasks and practice 6S, adhering to safety guidelines.
• Operate material handling equipment like cranes and forklifts.
• Assist other areas and support supervisors as needed.
• Adhere to company policies and safety, quality, environmental standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; less than two years of training/experience or comparable education and experience.
• Intermediate mechanical/technical skills.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Basic math, geometry, and computer skills (MS Office).
• Basic use of industrial measuring tools.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Safe use of tools and measurement devices.
• Ability to work at heights, climb stairs, and inspect work.
• Read, write, follow instructions, and judge work quality.
• Operate powered equipment like forklifts and cranes.
• Work in indoor temperatures, standing/walking 6-8 hours, and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Use PPE properly.
