Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer in Olive Branch, MS to support manufacturing processes and drive efficiency. You will develop and implement manufacturing methods, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to process optimization on site.

You will work with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other tools while applying lean principles to improve workflow, equipment layouts, and product quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (General, Mechanical, or Electrical) is required.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge and practical experience are required.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization is required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes by researching and testing methods and equipment.
  • Develop and modify manufacturing methods and tooling to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Improve workflow, space planning, and equipment layouts to boost production.
  • Design testing methods and verify product/process capabilities and standards.
  • Estimate production costs, review schedules, and forecast future requirements.
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting and summarizing data and trends.
  • Manage capital projects from start to finish, including AFEs.

  • Evaluating manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improving manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assuring product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Providing manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Preparing product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Providing manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Managing capital projects from start to completion including writing AFEs (Authority for Expenditure).
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (General, Mechanical, or Electrical), or related field (required)
  • AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Microsoft Access experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing
  • Knowledge of Lean Practices in a manufacturing environment, along with practical experience, is required
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry/trigonometry
  • Knowledge of Database/Design/Development/Internet and Manufacturing software, including ProE/AutoCad/Microsoft Office
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists along with the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
