Job summary

Sanford is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform light maintenance, repair, and cleaning tasks under supervision in a safe, professional environment. You will use hand tools, meters and gauges, read blueprints, and troubleshoot conditions while adhering to all policies.

Candidates should have basic mechanical knowledge, experience with various maintenance tasks, and the ability to work flexible shifts. CPR/BLS may be required; a valid driver's license may be needed depending on location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in all types of building maintenance preferred.
• Depending on location, a valid driver's license and a good driving record may be required.
• CPR/BLS may be required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks under supervision in a safe, professional manner.
• Operate hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges with competence.
• Familiarity with blueprints, schematics and technical manuals is helpful.
• Explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting.
• Work all shifts and hours as scheduled; on-call duties may be required.
• Comply with corporate and facility policies and dress code; communicate clearly written and verbally.
• Possess knowledge of codes and ordinances; work independently with minimal supervision.
• May install and maintain mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, and help with grounds and other maintenance duties.

Job Description

• Must take extra precautions when working in patient/resident care areas and specifically keep tools out of the reach of children.
• Must possess basic mechanical knowledge and show competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges.
• A familiarity of blueprints, schematics and technical manuals helpful.
• Must be able to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting.
• Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled.
• Must comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code. Understand written and verbal communications.
• Works independently with minimal supervision. Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances.
• Depending on facility size, additional duties may include but are not limited to: perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure a safe and efficient environment; maintain campus grounds and perform other outside maintenance duties; perform general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance.
• May require on-call duties as needed or as directed by the department.
