Job summary

Fidelity Investments in Westlake, TX is seeking an enthusiastic Entry-Level Mainframe Systems Programmer to join our infrastructure team. You will learn and support enterprise mainframe environments powering mission-critical applications, working alongside seasoned system programmers on maintenance, software installation, automation, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with IBM z/OS and mainframe basics preferred.
• Coursework or experience with JCL is a plus.
• Willingness to learn enterprise infrastructure technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Westlake, TX.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, configuration, and maintenance of IBM z/OS and related system software.
• Monitor mainframe health, performance, and availability.
• Support system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot OS, storage, networking, and middleware issues.
• Assist with automation and scheduling tools in the mainframe environment.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity testing.
• Create and maintain system documentation and knowledge articles.
• Collaborate with application, operations, and infrastructure teams to resolve incidents.
• Participate in problem determination and root cause analysis under guidance.
• Ensure compliance with security and operational standards.

The Purpose of This Role: - We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level Mainframe Systems Programmer to join our infrastructure team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn and support enterprise mainframe environments that power mission-critical business applications. The candidate will work alongside experienced system programmers to assist with system maintenance, software installation, automation, performance monitoring, and operational support.
