Job description

Job Description

The Associate Logistics Technician is responsible for managing their own work. This position reports to the Stockroom Supervisor, along with the Stockroom Coordinator(s) and Packaging Clerk(s). The technician maintains accurate stock balances, issues and receives parts, verifies cycle counts, and reconciles errors across all stockrooms.

The incumbent must be familiar with all transaction screens necessary for tasks such as verifications, corrections, kit issues, shop floor issues, shortages, receipts from the shop, receipt from Receiving Inspection, returns to stock, inter-stock transfers, and spares shipments. There are 32 transaction screens used daily, requiring the technician to know how and when to use each appropriately.

High accuracy is essential as parts are traceable by lot number. The technician must be vigilant about lot numbers and keyboard accuracy, working in a real-time, online environment where errors can be immediately processed.

The Stockroom Clerk may interface daily with Program Analysts, Engineers, Dispatch Personnel, Model Shop Expediters, Receiving Inspection Personnel, and Assembly and Test Personnel. They may also train new employees and work across different stockrooms as workload demands.

The physical demands include standing for long periods and lifting parts and boxes weighing less than a pound up to 65 lbs. Proper packaging and handling techniques are necessary to prevent damage and injury. ESD training and handling are also required.

The Stockroom Clerk is responsible for identifying deviations from standard practices, such as issues with cure dates, packaging, and material handling. They sign off on Certification Sheets for spare parts. Housekeeping activities include cleaning, organizing the stockroom, consolidating inventory, and maintaining supplies.
