Compensation
Targeted Earnings: $115,000 - $300,000+ Total On-Target Earnings (Base + Uncapped Performance Incentives)
Base Salary: $115,000 – $120,000 base pay (commensurate with active litigation experience)
Performance Incentives: Monthly settlement commissions, plus monthly team performance

- An Experienced California Litigator: Admitted to the California State Bar with 3–5 years of active civil litigation experience (lemon law, warranty, or consumer protection litigation experience preferred).
- A Skilled Deposition Practitioner: Confident taking and defending critical depositions, including defendants, plaintiffs, expert witnesses, and corporate representatives, with minimal supervision.
- Trial-Minded and Substantive: Eager to take lead responsibility in trial preparation, drafting and opposing high-stakes dispositive motions (e.g., MSJ’s), attending court hearings, and managing cases from initial evaluation through resolution.

Responsibilities
- Autonomous Case Management: Serve as a primary attorney on a portfolio of Lemon Law cases, driving litigation strategy from initial filing through resolution.
- Depositions & Oral Advocacy: Independently prepare for, take, and defend depositions, including plaintiffs, expert witnesses, dealership personnel, and corporate representatives.
- Substantive Motion Practice: Draft and oppose complex motions, including Motions for Summary Judgment/Adjudication (MSJs), discovery motions, and evidentiary motions.
- Court Appearances & Hearings: Represent clients in court for hearings, case management conferences, informal discovery conferences, and oral arguments across California.
- Settlement & Alternative Dispute Resolution: Evaluate liability and case valuation, formulate negotiation strategies, and lead representation in mediations and settlement conferences.
- Trial Preparation & Support: Collaborate with senior trial attorneys on trial strategy, motions in limine, jury instructions, exhibit lists, and witness examination outlines.
- Discovery & Written Advocacy: Oversee complex written discovery, propounding targeted requests and preparing high-level responses to defense discovery.
- Client & Key Stakeholder Communication: Maintain direct, ongoing communication with clients, providing strategic updates and setting clear expectations throughout the litigation lifecycle.
- Negotiate settlements and evaluate case value.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date case files, documents, and correspondence.
- Stay current with relevant laws, regulations, and court decisions affecting lemon law cases in California.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active California State Bar admission required.
- Litigation Experience: 3 to 5 years of active civil litigation experience required; experience in Lemon Law, Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, or consumer protection law is strongly preferred.
- Deposition & Courtroom Skills: Demonstrated track record of taking and defending depositions, handling court hearings, and preparing for mediations or trials.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Substantive Legal Writing: Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with proven experience drafting high-level pleadings, discovery motions, and MSJs.
- Research & Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with legal research tools (LexisNexis, Westlaw) and modern cloud-based case management platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a remote employee.
- Work Environment & Court Travel: Proven ability to manage a high-volume litigation caseload and work effectively in a remote or hybrid environment, with the flexibility and availability to attend in-person court appearances, depositions, and trial proceedings as needed across California.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and external parties.
- Knowledge of lemon law, consumer protection law, and/or automobiles is a plus.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Willingness to continue learning and stay updated with changes in Lemon Law.
- Sales and customer service experience is a plus.
