Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an early-career engineer to join Information Research, collaborating with scientists and technology professionals to advance the digital transformation of drug discovery.

You will work with Linux teams across lifecycle stages, from requirements through implementation, testing, and operational support, while learning from senior engineers in a dynamic, innovative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with no extra experience.
• Foundational experience with Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL or other enterprise Linux distributions.
• Foundational knowledge of Linux OS administration, patching, updates, service management, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to review logs and drive root-cause analysis with guidance.
• Clear, accurate technical documentation and operational record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Support Linux engineering activities in enterprise environments with guidance from senior engineers.
• Assist with OS patching, software installs/updates, certificate management, and config changes.
• Learn and apply Linux, infrastructure services, automation, and enterprise standards for reliable outcomes.
• Contribute to automation using Ansible and related tools; suggest improvements.
