Humana seeks a Data Scientist 2 to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions. The role develops, maintains, and collects structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting, and creates reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics.

The position requires evaluating department and organizational objectives, making decisions with limited direction, and occasionally traveling for meetings or training as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree AND 2 years technical experience (modeling, analytics, coding) or Master's degree in related field.
• Experience in developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting.
• Experience in creating reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business.
• Experience using mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform data into analytic solutions.
• Understanding of department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives.
• Ability to make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations.

The Data Scientist 2 uses mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions. The Data Scientist 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Data Scientist 2 develops, maintains, and collects structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting. Creates reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree AND 2 years technical experience (model building, mathematical analytics, coding) OR Masters degree in related field
• Experience in developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting
• Experience in creating reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business
• Experience in using mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions
• Possesses an understanding of department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas
• Capable of making decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree
• Exposure to healthcare data or care management analytics.
• Familiarity with lifecycle marketing and member engagement strategies.
• Experience with data visualization platforms

Additional Information

This position operates under Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.

This position MAY require some travel, 1-2 times a year.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$97,900 - $133,500 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
