Job summary

The Mother Church Reading Room in Boston seeks an Associate Librarian to support daily operations and communications, ensuring efficient administration and a welcoming environment for visitors, members and guests, with emphasis on service, discernment, and care.

The role covers technology support, records management, weekly Agile meetings, and event coordination, while maintaining product knowledge and contributing to reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred OR 3–5 years in tourism/hospitality, retail or event planning.
• Experience communicating about Christian Science to the public.
• Experience in the Christian Science field (Reading Room, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Handle administrative and operational duties in a timely manner while serving shifts in The Mother Church Reading Room.
• Oversee day-to-day office administration, submit work orders, track and order supplies.
• Prepare weekly Agile team meeting inputs and maintain department records.
• Provide level-one tech support and coordinate with OCIO for escalations.
• Assist with events, reports, and literature-related activities during shifts.
