LexisNexis Legal & Professional, part of RELX, seeks an Associate Legal News Copy Editor to edit and write daily legal news across topics. You will ensure accuracy, apply house style, and deliver high-quality copy for rigorous deadlines from anywhere in the United States.

The role requires hard news copyediting experience, strong news judgment, and the ability to explain complex legal topics. A journalism degree is preferred; Eastern time zone availability and independent work are essential.

About the Role

This role can be performed anywhere within the United States.

The Associate Legal News Copy Editor edits copy for all legal beats on a daily basis. The articles will report on court cases, administrative proceedings, and legislative and regulatory actions. The copy editor may also monitor developments and report on legal news for an assigned topic.

As a copy editor, you will edit copy related to important legal developments across multiple topics for daily news production. You will help your team improve the publication content and meet their performance goals. You will also be responsible for writing news articles.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $44,500 - $74,100. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. Base Pay Range for CO is $44,500 - $74,100. Base Pay Range for IL is $46,700 - $77,700. Base Pay Range for Chicago, IL is $49,000 - $81,500. Base Pay Range for MD is $46,700 - $77,700. Base Pay Range for NY is $49,000 - $81,500. Base Pay Range for New York City is $53,300 - $88,800. Base Pay Range for Rochester, NY is $44,500 - $74,100. Base Pay Range for OH is $42,200 - $70,400. Base Pay Range for NJ is $52,437- $83,763.
