Job summary

Versiti, Inc. is hiring a laboratory technician for a one-year, full-time position in Milwaukee. Under supervision, you will perform CLIA regulated testing, assist with reagent prep and instrument maintenance, and provide excellent customer service for sample-related inquiries.

The role requires a Bachelor's or an Associate degree in a related laboratory field, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. First shift, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, molecular biology, immunology, clinical lab science or related field.
• Associate's degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
• Ability to read SOPs, safety rules, and manuals.
• Basic mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform CLIA regulated and clinical testing as directed.
• Prepare reagents and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Provide high level customer service to resolve concerns about samples and results.
• Support testing and sample evaluation, as scheduled.
• Handle on-call, weekend, and holiday work as required.
• Maintain sample integrity and proper specimen identification.
• Assist in educating fellows, residents, and students as assigned.

Position Summary

Under direct supervision by department leadership, performs CLIA regulated and clinical contract research testing. Interacts at a basic level with customers, providing a high level of customer service to resolve customer concerns about sample acceptability and results. Supports preparation of laboratory reagents and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment .

This is a temporary position (one year). Full time (40 hours) 1st shift Monday-Friday for one year upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Understand and perform to all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Perform testing, as scheduled.
• Support sample evaluation and processing, as needed.
• Perform on-call, weekend, and holiday work, as scheduled.
• Perform reagent preparation, as scheduled.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance and calibration on equipment.
• Support customer inquiries via phone, email, and lab information system (LIS).
• Support the maintenance of reagent and supply inventory.
• Maintain sample integrity and ensure proper identification of all specimens.
• May participate in validations.
• May support training, as assigned.
• Maintain organization of departmental records, as needed.
• May assist in educating fellows, residents, students, and visitors to the laboratory.
• May support preparation or management of proficiency samples in the laboratory.
• May release results in accordance to training and compliance requirements.
• Review daily work for accuracy and escalat as appropriate.
• May provide support for transfusion product selection, as applicable.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
• Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
• Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in biology, chemistry, molecular biology, immunology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related field. required
• Associate's Degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution. required
